Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviours Research

Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviours Research

Study recruitment language: English

Study protocol:
The study is conducted online using the Qualtrics platform. Participants will receive detailed information regarding the purpose and procedure of the study, as well as the potential benefits, risks, and participation requirements. Based on this information, they will be able to make an informed decision about taking part in the survey. Then respondents will be asked to provide demographic information including age, gender identity, and country of origin. Additionally, participants will be asked whether they are currently, or have previously been, students at a higher education institution. In the subsequent section of the survey, participants will be asked to complete a modified version of the Generic Body-Focused Repetitive Behavior Scale – 8 (GBS-8; Moritz et al., 2022) and the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale – 16 Item Version (DERS-16; Bjureberg et al., 2016). The modification of the GBS-8 allows for the inclusion of a broader range of disorders and symptoms than in the original version.

The estimated time required to complete the study is 15–20 minutes.

Eligibility criteria include proficiency in English, being 18 years of age or older, and providing informed consent to participate. Lack of consent will result in termination of the survey.

The study is anonymous, and the collected data will not allow for the identification of participants.
