biografía

Hi, I’m Echo Valbuena, LCSW, and I specialize in working with individuals experiencing Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs) and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Since 2021, I’ve been supporting clients in finding relief from the distress, shame, and confusion that can come with these conditions through compassionate, evidence-based telehealth therapy. My approach is grounded in the Comprehensive Behavioral Model, and I incorporate tools from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients build awareness, regulate emotions, and live more fully in alignment with their values. (For OCD I use Exposure and Response Prevention). As someone in recovery from a BFRB myself, I bring both clinical training and personal understanding to this work. I know how isolating these behaviors can feel, and I’m passionate about creating a space where you don’t have to feel ashamed. My goal is to help you feel seen, supported, and empowered as you navigate your healing. I offer flexible, accessible telehealth sessions for clients looking for a therapist who is both relatable and deeply attuned to the complexities of BFRBs and OCD. And outside of therapy, I’m a big Harry Potter fan and love discovering delicious new food—so if you ever have a good recommendation, I’m all ears!
