biography
I am a clinical social worker, supervisor, registered poetry therapist, certified mentor, and a certified clinical anxiety treatment professional who is dedicated to helping those with Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors and related co-occurring disorders. I am uniquely qualified as I have personal experience with BFRB's, graduated from the TLC Professional Training Institute, participated in TLC's Early Clinician Award program, have been interviewed by Self magazine on BFRBs, and developed the fidget called Sensory Strands. I have also presented on the topic of BFRB's and lead numerous workshops to both clients, students, and clinicians. I currently host monthly in-person support groups and work with trichstop.com and skinpick.com :) I am licensed in both NY and NJ. I have worked in the NYS mental health system since 2006 and am dedicated to helping those with Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors such as hair pulling, twirling, and cutting, skin picking, lip and cheek biting, nail and cuticle biting. I also work closely and address possible co-occurring disorders such as anxiety, depression, and attention deficit and/or hyperactive disorders. I welcome adults, adolescents, children, and/or parents. Together we will develop individualized treatment to meet your needs. Please do not hesitate to reach out and see if we will be a good fit and I’m looking forward to working with you on this road to recovery.
