While I don’t bill insurance directly, I do accept HSA/FSA cards as payment. Many insurance providers offer out-of-network reimbursement, which may cover part or all of your session cost. I’m happy to provide a superbill upon request to support that process. If you have questions about how this works, I welcome you to reach out. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can talk about what you’re looking for, answer any questions, and explore whether working together feels like a good match. There’s no pressure—just a chance to connect and see if it feels right.

BFRB Changemakers: Treating Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors: Utilizing Awareness, Compassion and Evidence-Based Practices
biography
Hi, I’m Nathan Becker (he/him), a Professional Counselor Associate based in Portland, Oregon. I specialize in working with adults navigating body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs) such as skin picking (excoriation disorder) and hair pulling (trichotillomania). My work is rooted in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Habit Reversal Training (HRT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while always centering your lived experience. I understand that BFRBs can feel confusing, isolating, or even shameful—but you are not alone, and you're not broken. These behaviors often serve a purpose, and therapy can help you learn how to respond to those urges with understanding, curiosity, and skill. My goal is to create a nonjudgmental space where you feel supported in making meaningful change at your own pace. I offer in-person therapy in Portland and virtual sessions throughout Oregon. If you’re ready to explore your experience with BFRBs and find new ways to move forward, I’d be honored to work with you.
