Susan (Shelly) Jefferson Morton (Kamiak Creek Counseling &, Play Therapy) is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia and a Registered Play Therapist. She has over 20 years of counseling experience in a variety of settings. Anxiety Disorders – In her private practice, Shelly specializes in providing individual counseling services to Children, adolescents, and Adults with anxiety and anxiety-related disorders. She has training and experience providing Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) (ERP) Therapy for OCD, Comprehensive Behavioral (ComB) Treatment for trichotillomania (hair pulling), excoriation / dermatillomania (skin picking), and Other Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRB’s), Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), as well as Other evidence-based treatments (i.e. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) to help clients with generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, selective mutism, and Other anxiety disorders.Shelly is a trauma-informed therapist and has training/experience in several therapy modalities to support clients as they develop the skills to successfully manage life’s difficulties. This includes play therapy, expressive arts, sand tray, cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure and response prevention therapy, and more traditional person-centered “talk” therapies.
